New Smash Bros character listed on voice actress resume [update]
A listing on voice actress Alesia Glidewell's online resume hints that Krystal, who debuted in the much loved (we kid, we kid) Star Fox Adventures, will make an appearance in the upcoming Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Glidewell lists among her credentials for video game voice over and motion capture three characters from the upcoming game: Krystal, Knuckle Joe, and Zero Suit Samus. We don't know how Krystal will be incorporated into Brawl, if at all; she could be an assist trophy, a stage-centric distraction, a cameo in the single player storyline, or even a fully-fledged playable character. Then again, Krystal might've been cut entirely, or the resume is simply mistaken.
If it was up to us, we'd prefer the disc space be used to include a Pikmin wearing a Virtual Boy (thanks for the mental image, Justin), but we don't get a say in the matter. We'll have to wait for a confirmation from the Smash Bros. blog to see what plans, if any, they have for the character.
Update: The listing has been removed, leaving a blank white row.
[Thanks, Ross ... no, not me]

Again, just making sure if this is sarcasm or not, because they don't really need this as an excuse. (it's more likely to distract them from stuff than contribute to the already existing tons of reasons for such)

Wow Joystiq is really slow on a lot of news lately. This is a few days old. I hope she's playable, she's a cool character.
GoldenS1104 @ Oct 29th 2007 5:44PM
Actually it's more than a few days old. It's somewhere between a week and a half and two weeks old. Although, I'm a frequent of smashboards.com, and they tend to notice obscure things way before the mainstream media does. If one were to go to imdb.com and search Super Smash Bros. Brawl, I think there are one or two other unannounced characters listed in the cast (most notably Ganondorf).

Is the starfox barrel so shallow that they're already scraping the bottom?
baby sea tuna @ Oct 29th 2007 4:38PM
Yes. Soon it'll be the new Sonic.
Crono (NDF - Knight of the Old School) @ Oct 29th 2007 4:42PM
Sad, but unfortunately, true. There hasn't been a good Starfox game since Starfox 64. Though I thouroughly enjoyed Starfox Command on DS. The art style sucked hard, though. And Starfox Assault would have been good except for the ground missions.
But it is definitely approaching Sonic's level .
Word of the street(IDF-Digital Ruler). @ Oct 29th 2007 4:45PM
That would be a greta christmas tale.
Star fox-"Tell me spirit, which is that game left in the shelves in Christmas day?,that one the people say is not longer good"
Spirit-"Star Fox Adventure Wii"
star Fox-"No,No!!!"
Spirit-"Yes is true Star fox,you are the new sonic"
Star Fox-"No It can't be true,I won't let it be true,I'll change I'll change!!"
samfish (MSDF- Nurse Outfit!) @ Oct 29th 2007 4:46PM
I really liked Assault. I have no idea why people are so hard on it.
Yeah, there were to many ground mission, but it's not like it was akin to playing any of the recent Sonic games or anything.
Mr Khan @ Oct 29th 2007 4:47PM
In some ways you could draw the parallels, the only difference is that StarFox needs a bit of a story, so the added characters are somewhat necessary as opposed to Sonic
Now StarFox Adventures, that was a mistake, but i liked Assault and Command (Command was especially good in how tough it was, a rare change) and the new characters haven't really detracted much (none of them are more annoying than the original character, Slippy)
samfish (MSDF- Nurse Outfit!) @ Oct 29th 2007 4:52PM
I really liked Adventures, too. It was a bit too long for it's own good, but otherwise once you got over the fact that it wasn't really a Star Fox game, it was just a good ol' fashioned action/adventure platformer.
I think it was the last truly GOOD game that Rare ever made.
WiNG @ Oct 29th 2007 4:53PM
There is NO REASON Peppy can't be an Assist Trophy. If I worked at Nintendo, I would have his Arwing fly on, his text box come up...
"DO A BARREL ROLL!"
The ARwing flips and anyone next to it gets blown away.
Crono (NDF - Knight of the Old School) @ Oct 29th 2007 4:54PM
Funny, I thought command was rediculously easy, unless you're talking about figuring out the right path to get all the endings.
I thought Adventure was a horrible idea (and a bad game) so I never played it. I rented assault a few times, and it was OK. Starfox 64 is still the best overall game, with original starfox being damn good by itself (and the one with the superior soundtrack).
Fox hasn't hit sonic level yet, but its definitely the worst of the classic nintendo franchises.
rowd149 @ Oct 29th 2007 9:13PM
I agree with Samfish; Adventures was a pretty good game, despite it having almost nothing to do with Starfox. Little-known fact: it was supposed to be a game called "Dinosaur Planet," with an original story and characters(Krystal was one of them), for the N64. At the last moment, however(and I do mean last moment; I think it had nearly gone gold...), Miyamoto stepped in and "suggested" that they redo the whole thing, for the Dolphin(Gamecube), and add in the StarFox-related bits. :/ So, basically, it was never supposed to be a StarFox game, but that's just how it turned out.
raginfox @ Oct 29th 2007 4:46PM
Don't blame Krystal, blame Namco for the decline...
Anyways, I bet she took up Little Mac's spot. =P
Mr Khan @ Oct 29th 2007 4:49PM
Namco's was one game though (i liked it, but hey, i'm still a fan of Sonic Team). Q Entertainment's StarFox Command was excellent in its arcade-esque style of battle, although those stories were poorly executed
1up_clock @ Oct 29th 2007 4:59PM
Don't blame Namco. Blame Rare for making Krystal and Dinosaur Planet, and blame Nintendo for slapping Star Fox on it, ruining the entire franchise in one game.
Raginfox @ Oct 29th 2007 5:31PM
SFA wasn't that bad...
Anyways, Starfox has gotten way off track. They need to get back to basics. Remove the Landmaster. Remove the on foot levels. Remove the wing walking levels. More Arwing action. Thanks!
F. Rocker or Fernando R.? @ Oct 29th 2007 4:44PM
I want better a new Star Fox game, made by Factor 5, with excellent graphics, and without making the same mistakes of Lair.
>se the nuchuck stick to move the ship and use the remote pointer to shot. And some motion to do the barrel roll.
But without Krystal.
F. Rocker or Fernando R.? @ Oct 29th 2007 4:47PM
Oh, and just ship missions, with absolute zero ground missions. Or at least grounf mission with the tank, linear stages, like Star Fox 64 (the tank stage with the train was awesome).
Damn... just make a game like Star Fox 64 (my second favorite game on the N64)
Ed @ Oct 29th 2007 7:18PM
Do not blaspheme!
Superstar90 @ Oct 29th 2007 7:44PM
The remote should be for controlling the laser's crosshairs and the Nunchuck should be for controlling the actual arwing. Or just have a Wiimote sideways thing, like lair (but not unresponsive).
Ross @ Oct 29th 2007 4:58PM
I jokingly said to a fellow called Jin on our Skype chat (he found it, I don't deserve the credit) that we should tell the press, so I sent this to you guys... Since I read you just about every morning lmao.
All signs point to yes, it would seem.
